Gain Insights, Drive Sustainability:

Introducing CSRD

The CSRD obligates sustainability reporting on E, S and G performance for big companies. Big companies are defined as organisations meeting at least two out of three of the following requirements: €50+ million net revenue, €25+ million on the balance sheet, and/or 250+ employees.

2026

With the above requirements, you must report on thousands of ESG and sustainability-related policies, strategies, and KPIs. It saves time and money to start preparation at least in 2024.

Clarity in sustainability

From 0 to CSRD in 6 steps.

Implementing CSRD demands a lot of resources from your organisation. Starting early means spreading these resources over a longer period of time. For all six steps, having at least 18 months is comfortable.

The DMA assesses what ESRS topics are material for your company.

The GA assesses the steps your organisation must take to go from your status quo, to CSRD compliancy.

In the CSRD roadmap, we report steps 1 and 2. In the roadmap, we take your resource availability into account in describing the steps until CSRD compliant reporting.

We guide and support your organisation with implementation of the CSRD roadmap. In this phase, we can also implement the most suitable CSRD software for your organisation.

In this phase, we will work together to build your first, test CSRD report. With our partners, or with your accountant, we also organise an audit. Based on this, we adjust and secure your CSRD system.

Your first report is over your financial year starting in 2025. In the first 3 years, limited assurance applies to your CSRD reports.

What is CSRD, and why is it important?

The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) is a new EU legislation to enhance sustainability reporting among companies. Organisations must disclose their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices and impacts. CSRD is crucial because it promotes transparency, accountability, and comparability in sustainability reporting, helping stakeholders make informed decisions and driving positive change towards a more sustainable future.

How can my business benefit from complying with CSRD?

Complying with CSRD offers several benefits for businesses, including:

  • Enhanced transparency: CSRD compliance demonstrates your commitment to sustainability and fosters trust with stakeholders.
  • Competitive advantage: By showcasing credible sustainability credentials, your brand can stand out in the market and attract eco-conscious consumers.
  • Risk mitigation: CSRD enables you to identify and address environmental risks, minimizing potential negative impacts on your operations.
  • Regulatory compliance: Ensuring compliance with CSRD requirements helps you stay ahead of evolving environmental regulations and avoid penalties.
  • Long-term sustainability: CSRD compliance supports the development of robust sustainability strategies, driving positive change and fostering long-term business resilience.
What industries can benefit from CSRD compliance?

CSRD compliance is beneficial for companies across various industries, including but not limited to:

  • Manufacturing
  • Financial services
  • Retail and consumer goods
  • Technology
  • Energy and utilities
  • Healthcare
  • Transportation and logistics
  • Hospitality and tourism
  • Construction and real estate
How is CSRD compliance different from other sustainability reporting frameworks?

CSRD introduces standardized sustainability reporting requirements across the EU, ensuring consistency and comparability in reporting practices. Unlike other frameworks, CSRD mandates reporting on specific ESG topics, including double materiality assessment and due diligence, thereby providing comprehensive insights into an organization's sustainability performance.

Is CSRD suitable for small businesses?

Yes, CSRD is applicable to small businesses, particularly those with more than 10 employees operating within the EU. While the compliance requirements may vary based on company size and revenue, all organizations are encouraged to adopt sustainable practices and disclose relevant information to stakeholders.

How can I get started with CSRD compliance for my organisation?

Getting started with CSRD compliance involves several steps, including:

  • Familiarize yourself with CSRD requirements and guidelines provided by the European Union.
  • Assess your organization's current sustainability practices and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop a sustainability reporting strategy tailored to your organization's objectives and stakeholders' expectations.
  • Collect relevant data on environmental, social, and governance performance indicators.
  • Prepare and publish your sustainability report in accordance with CSRD guidelines.
  • Engage with stakeholders to communicate your sustainability efforts and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
